The Long Room
The Hub of Casale San Pietro
The Long Room is the hub of Casale San Pietro, You will enter the long room from the car park and before entering you will notice the water feature and the arched doorway which welcomes you into reception. Inside the room stretches ahead almost as far as the eye can see, to the fireplace at the other end. We have divided the room up into separate seating areas so that groups of people can enjoy their own space within this beautiful room with its original ‘cotto’ floor.
In this room, you will see the exposed stone walls and exposed beams on the ceiling lit up with Murano glass chandeliers. Where the plasterwork is, our specialist craftsmen used a unique finish called Venetian stucco, which is polished plaster and paint and has a beautiful silky finish unlike anything we have seen elsewhere.
The Library
We have a library area where guests are welcome to sit and browse or borrow books. If you bring a book and finish it, just swop it for one of ours. There is also a large selection of DVDs for our guests to borrow and we have a large selection of games. This may be a welcome retreat in the heat of summer.
You will also find an Honesty Bar in the library, with a small fridge, from where guests can help themselves to drinks, (wine, beer, soft drinks, water etc.) and this will be charged to your room.
The Terrace
The four sets of french windows lead from the Long Room out onto the covered terrace, where breakfast will be eaten overlooking the olive groves.
We have enjoyed furnishing the Long Room with some of our own furniture that we brought from England, along with pieces we have bought locally and others that we have picked up from antique markets and had re-upholstered.
We have tried to create a relaxing atmosphere where our guests can chill out and enjoy a glass of chilled prosecco on the comfortable sofas. A perfect place to enjoy your aperitif before dinner.
